国際ドッグショー 2001年8月19日 Convention & Exhibition Centre ,新館，ホール2B 今日の午後、皆様が既にご存知のように、哥哥はドッグショーに出席しました。距離はありましたが、彼を一時間以上も見る事が出来ました。2時間50分以上彼の来場を待っていましたが、彼は午後4時55分にやって来ました。彼が到着するや、ファン達は彼の名前を大声で叫び、彼はにっこりと可愛い笑顔で手を振り返してくれました。会場にいる間、彼は快活な様子で、午後6時5分過ぎに会場を後にしました。彼は、濃い赤紫っぽい半袖のニットのシャツと濃紺のズボンで、贅肉のないほっそりとした体型で若く輝いて見えました。 哥哥は入賞者達に賞を授与する為の特別ゲストとして招かれたのですが、競技の時間があまりにも長す過ぎて、予定よりも大幅に進行が遅れていたので、賞を授与する事なく会場を後にしました。主催者は彼を特別ゲストとして紹介するのを忘れたのではないかという気がします。その結果、彼はドッグショーに何の目的もなく来たように見えました。舞台上に座り、他のゲストや審判員やスタッフとおしゃべりをし、ドッグショーの競技を見学し、ファンにサインをし、水を沢山飲み、プレスから写真を撮られ、スタッフとも撮り、そして、勿論、会場を後にする時には大きな混乱を引き起こしていました。 彼がそんなことをしている間、大会参加者たちは競技に忙しく、他の観衆は彼を見るのに忙しく、私はと言えば、もう一つするべき事がありました。犬が私の側に近寄らないようにすること………. そう私は犬が怖いのです！ 哥哥が椅子から立ち上がり舞台から降りて来た瞬間から興奮の幕が切って落とされました。 彼は何人かの幸運なファン達と握手を交わしながら、鄧光榮夫人と手をつないでものすごい速さで歩いて行きました。 最初の10秒間は１０人程のファンが彼の後を追いかけ、次の１０秒間には30人以上が彼を追いかけていました。 コンベンションセンターの新館のロビーとエスカレーターを通り抜けて、車を駐車している隣のホテルまで5分ほどの道のり。 当日、食品展が同じ新館で開催されていました。彼を追いかける人々の群れにその会場にいた大勢の人々が加わった様子を想像してみて下さい！何故彼はこれほど速く歩けるのだろうと驚きました。彼の後を追って5分間歩いて、いいえ、実際は「走って」いたら、みんな息が切れてしまいました。大勢の通行人たちが「哥哥～!」｢きれ～い！｣と叫んでいました。彼はすごく速く歩きながらも、握手を求めてきた何人かの通行人の若い女性たちに応じていました。この5分間のマラソン歩行の間中ずっと鄧夫人の手をしっかりと握りしめていました。 やっと車にたどり着いた彼は運転席に座りました。この車は彼のでなく多分鄧光榮氏のものでしょう。エンジンをスタートさせる時にややてこずっていました。自分の車でないので仕方ないでしょう。エンジンがかかると私達は彼に「さようなら」と手を振りました。 普段私は「レスリー追っかけ」というよりも「傍観者」の場合が多いのです。でも今では、「レスリー追っかけ」の人の気持ちが良く分ります！レスリーを普段追っかけている人たちに言わせると、彼にくっついて5分間も歩く（走る？）ことは、千歳一隅の、希少な機会だったそうです。 Susanna |

You all know that Gor Gor attended the dog show this afternoon. We could see him for more than one hour, at a distance though. He showed up at 4:55 pm (we've been waiting for more than 2.5 hours before this). When he arrived, fans shouted his name and he waved back to us with big sweet smile. He was light-hearted throughout the time he spent there and he left the show at 6:05 pm. He wore a dark red short-sleeve kneat shirt and a dark blue pants, slim, young & bright looking. He was supposed to be a special guest who presents awards to the winners. Yet, the competition lasted for too long and was way beyong the scheduled time, and he left without presenting the awards. Personally, I think the organizor forgot to introduce him as a special guest. So, eventually, he looked like as if he had done nothing for the dog show, except sitting on stage; socializing with other guests, adjudicators and staffs; watching the performance of competing dogs; autographing for fans; drinking lots of water; photo-taking by press and with staff; and of course, causing chaos when he was leaving the venue. While he was doing the above and the competition participants were busy with their performance, the rest audience were busy with looking at him. For me, I have one more thing to do - watching out for dogs which got near to me ....... I am cynophobia! The most exciting moment started when he got up from his chair and walked off from the stage. He shook hands with some lucky fans and walked hand in hand with Mrs. Alan Tang at a very quick pace. For the first 10 seconds, there were about 10 fans following him, the next 10 seconds, more than 30 were following him....... my gosh... he walked for 5 minutes passing through the hallway and escalators of the new wing of the Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Hotel next to it where the car was parked! Incidentally, the Food Exhibition was held at the same time in the same wing....... you can imagine how many people joined in the crowd chasing after him! I wonder how he could walk this fast. We were out of breath after walking (actually running) behind him for 5 minutes. Many passerbys were shouting "Gor Gor" and said "you are so handsome". Though he walked so fast, he still managed to shake hands with some young girls who saw him walked by. He was holding Mrs. Tang's hand real tight throughout this 5-minute marathon walk. He finally got on the driver seat of the car (the car does not belong to him... guess it belongs to Alan Tang). He seemed to have a little trouble when he started the car (well, afterall, it was not his own car). He finally made it work and we were waving goodbye to him. Normally, I am an "observer" rather than a "Leslie chaser". Now I know how it feels being a "Leslie chaser"! According to those normal "Leslie chasers", this is a once-in-a-blue-moon occasion - walking/running with/after him for 5 minutes. Susanna
